DIY Tassel Earrings

Super easy, super cute, super cheap!

What you'll need:

-whatever color you want embroidery thread

-2 extra 5 inch pieces of that thread

-pair of stud earrings(ones you don't wear anymore)

-scissors

Total cost for materials per pair: $1

To do:

- cut the embroidery thread pack directly in half

-take one strand of the thread and securely tie it around/in your earring. You may need super glue to make sure it won't slip

-tie the string that is already attached to the earring through the center of one of the halved chunks of embroidery thread...Be sure to leave a little length in between the earring and the halved chunk so that the tassel will dangle.

-then simply take one of the extra 5 inch pieces and tie it around the halved chunk so that it looks like a tassel, make sure that this is tight and knot the end of it twice...make sure that the knot faces the back of the earring

- do for the other earring and you have completed the DIY tassel earrings

DIY Fringe Jeans

Check out how to make this super cute fringe out of any old pair of jeans!! I wore them yesterday and got SOOOO many compliments!!!

What you need:

  • scissors
  • old jeans, works best with straight leg
  • ruler
  • chalk
  • dryer
  • tweezers

Total Cost: None! everything can be found within your home...hopefully!

How to do it:

  • Get your jeans ready! try them on and see how high up you want the fringe to go and mark with the chalk & do on both sides so it is even

  • Cut the seem off of the end of the jean. Also cut the seems on the sides of the legs up to the chalked point so it will be easier to fringe

  • Only a few more cuts!.. . so next you should cut about 1 inch slits up to chalked point (doesn't matter exactly how thick the slits are but I found about 1 inch is easiest) do this around the entire bottom of the pant

  • This part gets annoying.... take each slit and pull out the crossing threads with tweezers, sometimes youll get lucky and big chunks will come out

  • Pull apart the pieces of fringe so that there are no cross threads left, don't have to remove every single cross thread

  • After you do this to EVERY strip of jean, throw the jeans in the dryer for 10 min and it should look like my pictures. Repeat if the fringe still had too many cross threads and didn't break apart

You are all done! Style your unique pants with a cute pair of shoes and a simple top!

Rock your new pants!!

DIY Chanel Top

We all have dreams of wearing high fashion designer clothes, but ...... not all of us want to spend hundreds of dollars on it. Check out this DIY Chanel top!!!

So this was super easy to make..

Here is what you will need

  • a piece of clothing
  • X-acto knife
  • printer transfer sheets
  • a printer
  • ironing board
  • iron

Directions...

  1. find a blank picture of the Chanel logo, copy it onto Microsoft word and flip the image vertically so that it looks backwards
  2. follow the directions for the transfer sheet printing and print your logo onto the page
  3. use the X-acto knife to trace around all of the letters to get rid of the clear film, if you do not remove the clear film, there will be a lot of ugly residue on your shirt
  4. To prepare your shirt, make sure to iron over the spot you will be putting the logo onto(to get rid of wrinkles)
  5. place the transfer paper onto the piece of clothing and then make sure it is centered with the ink side down( the logo should look normal through the paper if you did it correctly)
  6. make sure your iron is on with the steam settings OFF!!!
  7. take your iron and press it directly onto the logo and hold for a few seconds and then move it to another spot on the logo, repeat this until the logo has had about 45 seconds of heat in each spot
  8. Wait for the paper to completely cool off and then gently peel it back
  9. If the ink isn't cleanly peeling off of the paper, Iron for about 20 more seconds in each spot
  10. Once the paper comes of clearly..... you are done!!!

*****BE SURE NOT TO IRON THE CLOTHING TO MUCH OR YOU WILL BURN A HOLE THROUGH IT******

TOTAL COST:

Bodysuit.............................................................$8
Transfer Paper......$10x40%coupon/10sheets= $0.60
Other items were previously owned

TOTAL: $8.60

Hope you enjoy this DIY Chanel top that was super cheap & cost less than $9 to make!!! Pair it with a neutral tote bag to complete the chic look. . . .I paired mine with an army green Longchamp!! College budget still intact after this high designer DIY!!

DIY Sorority Letters

Hi everyone!
Today I was looking at some sorority letters online. I have a hard time finding shirts that I like so, I decided to make my own... just the way I like it...and it only cost about $2!!

Ready to make this yourself?

Here is what you'll need

  • Plain shirt (old/new) . . . . . I used a plain body suit that I found in the back of my closet
  • Iron on sequins . . . . . don't forget your coupons !!!!
  • Iron
  • Ironing board
  • Scissors
  • Patience

To begin making the shirt

1. Pull up a picture of your sororities letters... Mine is ΦΣΣ

2. Decide how big and where you want the letters to be on your shirt

3. Begin cutting the sequins and forming your letters with it

4. If you have round letters, I suggest cutting triangles out of the sequins so it doesn't overlap when you bend it

5. After you have your letters completed, place them on the shirt EXACTLY how you want them

6. To iron on, make sure your shirt is completely flat on the ironing board and that the steam setting is shut off on your iron. Place a piece of paper on top of the sequins so the sequins don't melt or burn. Hold the iron down on the piece of paper for about 15 seconds... do not slide the iron because it can displace your letters.

7. You are done ironing once you can lift the paper and none of the sequin ribbon is popping off of the shirt

8. You are DONE!!! yep, its that easy

Cutting technique for round letters

Extra Tips:
  • Make sure your shirt is wrinkle-free
  • Do not use a super tight shirt for this as the letters can pop off if they are stretched too much.
  • Mark where you want the letters to be located while you have the shirt on
  • Do not hold the iron in one place for too long or you will burn something
  • Be careful washing this, the sequins are very delicate and can come off. . . .  I will be hand-washing mine
  • You can do this DIY for anything, not just sorority stuff!!
  • If you have any questions feel free to comment or email me

Why spend tons of money on letters when you can make this for $2!!!
(if you already have an old shirt you want to recycle)

Happy Crafting!!
xoxo,
    Lil

DIY Mirrored Wall

Hi there! So I thought it was finally time to share one of my favorite DIY projects with you, my mirrored wall!! This can be done in any house and even in a dorm room! This will not leave any damage on your wall if you eventually decide to take it down!

             AFTER & BEFORE

Here is how to do it....

1. Find a boring wall in your house/ a small room that you want to appear larger

2. Measure the height of your wall and the area you plan to cover... I do not recommend trying to cut glass yourself so try to make the measurements exact

3.Go to your nearest dollar tree and buy the largest mirrors they have to fit your area and height( don't worry if they are ugly, the border comes right off) the mirrors should be around 11"x14" .... I used 15 so that was $15+tax

4. You will also need mirror tape, you can get it at Walmart or any hardware store. Make sure it is high quality tape as you don't want your mirrors to fall off the wall!!!! I spent $5

5. Carefully cut the tape into little squares and apply to each corner of the mirrors, DO NOT PEEL THE FRONT SIDE

6. Before taping mirror to wall, make a little mark on your wall exactly where you want it. Once you stick the mirror to the wall, you can not easily take it off.

7. Complete your mirror wall by precisely measuring and taping the mirrors to the wall. Be sure to apply pressure at each corner to ensure it is stuck

8. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to comment!!!

TOTAL COST: $20
