Designer Fashion Dupes

So, I am in college, as you may have known... that means ya gotta save money when you can. I personally still like to be fabulous at the same time!  Now you get to learn just a few of my secrets for getting the best designer dupes possible.

1. Louis Bags

Good ones are hard to come by most of the time! You need to brush up your knowledge by watching authenticity videos and trying to find the dupe that falls more on the authentic end of the LV spectrum. I personally have a few that I got from my old job (goodwill, lets not talk about that experience ever again) they are top of the line dupes, and I just so happen to have 2 for sale on Poshmark, comment you read this on my blog for 10% off if you want anything from my closet. But anyway, keep your eyes out in thrift stores and on poshmark, they always have a hidden gem somewhere!

2. Cartier Love Bracelets

I got mine from the app called Wish, you basically order it from china and have to wait a month for it to come in. Its super cheap too! To find things on the app, you have to search for unusual things. To get these bracelets search "screw bracelet" or "love bracelet". They are like $2 each and its pretty cool

3. Chanel, Hermes, Prada Accessories

Get the app Aliexpress, it is not a scam!  Again, a China based company app thing but they have some fun stuff.  Got my Chanel earrings ( type " cc designer earrings" to find), Hermes belt (type "hbrand belt",  and my Prada inspired sunglasses (type "designer swirl glasses") all from this app. I have also ordered many other things but they were just for fun, not any fashionable stuff.  The reason you have to type in weird things on these apps is because they regulate the designer names so if something says Chanel or Louis Vuitton, it will be blocked so you cant see it. I would post the links to the things I got but, once they sell out, they no longer exist on the link.

4. Keep your Research Up

Most "hipster" stores will copy the styles of high fashion brands. For example,  forever 21 has tons of fashion dupes, just gotta keep your eye out on the designers website versus the affordable stores.

5. Make it yourself

Just see my DIY Chanel top  or DIY fringe jeans to get your inspiration. Pinterest is also a great way to find high fashion designer outfits and copy them for a reasonable price.

Hope this helps!!

DIY Chanel Top

We all have dreams of wearing high fashion designer clothes, but ...... not all of us want to spend hundreds of dollars on it. Check out this DIY Chanel top!!!

So this was super easy to make..

Here is what you will need

  • a piece of clothing
  • X-acto knife
  • printer transfer sheets
  • a printer
  • ironing board
  • iron

Directions...

  1. find a blank picture of the Chanel logo, copy it onto Microsoft word and flip the image vertically so that it looks backwards
  2. follow the directions for the transfer sheet printing and print your logo onto the page
  3. use the X-acto knife to trace around all of the letters to get rid of the clear film, if you do not remove the clear film, there will be a lot of ugly residue on your shirt
  4. To prepare your shirt, make sure to iron over the spot you will be putting the logo onto(to get rid of wrinkles)
  5. place the transfer paper onto the piece of clothing and then make sure it is centered with the ink side down( the logo should look normal through the paper if you did it correctly)
  6. make sure your iron is on with the steam settings OFF!!!
  7. take your iron and press it directly onto the logo and hold for a few seconds and then move it to another spot on the logo, repeat this until the logo has had about 45 seconds of heat in each spot
  8. Wait for the paper to completely cool off and then gently peel it back
  9. If the ink isn't cleanly peeling off of the paper, Iron for about 20 more seconds in each spot
  10. Once the paper comes of clearly..... you are done!!!

*****BE SURE NOT TO IRON THE CLOTHING TO MUCH OR YOU WILL BURN A HOLE THROUGH IT******

TOTAL COST:

Bodysuit.............................................................$8
Transfer Paper......$10x40%coupon/10sheets= $0.60
Other items were previously owned

TOTAL: $8.60

Hope you enjoy this DIY Chanel top that was super cheap & cost less than $9 to make!!! Pair it with a neutral tote bag to complete the chic look. . . .I paired mine with an army green Longchamp!! College budget still intact after this high designer DIY!!

Marc Jacobs Must Haves for Less

I was recently in New York City visiting my aunt, @hausjojo . She took me to the most interesting Marc Jacobs store called BookMarc... it was amazing. It has tons of designer fashion books along with many Marc Jacobs accessories. These accessories were extremely unique as I have never seen them before in any retail store. Not only were they unique but, they were CHEAP for being the Marc Jacobs brand.

Get one of these unique latin rings or the iridescent silver keychain, along with many other colors here.

Total cost for these designer items was $19
               Ring: $4
               Keychain: $15

The rings may be sold out online, but check your nearest BookMarc for more.

Marc Jacobs also has sturdy tote bags that can easily fit multiple college books... which is a must have since most tote bags are flimsy and small. Prices can vary from $50-hundreds of dollars but I would recommend waiting for the holiday sales to snatch your stylish tote. Don't forget the matching coin purse to accompany your new bag & keychain.

         xoxo,
              Lil
